Julia's First Night Away from Mommy :(

Poppy had asked several times before if Julia could come and spend the night with her. Well, you know you cannot let them do anything like that for the first six months that you have them. Poppy has been counting the days. We finally decided she was ready. The thought of being able to sleep past 5:30 a.m. was refreshing and chasing one toddler around for the evening versus two. Well, Carson decided to wake up around 6:00 a.m. so that plan was short lived.
She did take two of her brothers with her. She got her bath, popped some popcorn and sat down to watch a movie. She only got up once during the night and that was because of her stuffy nose but quickly went back to sleep.

Julia survived the night without Mommy and Daddy. She got a four-course breakfast and didn't even ask for me. I went to pick her up and she acted like I had been there the whole time. Although it kind of made me feel a little less loved, it is a huge relief to know that we now have someone in the family that she can stay with when needed and know that we are coming back to get her.

Happy 81st Birthday, Meme!

For those of you who read my previous blog on my Granddaddy's birthday, I would like to introduce you to his soul mate and my grandmother. You know how everyone supposedly has a twin? Well, she is mine. We have a lot in common. Meme never, ever meets a stranger and always has plenty to talk about to anyone in any situation. Meme has always been the nurturer of the family and always has something positive to bring to the table. Like Granddaddy, Meme always finds ways to teach you something or share childhood memories with you. Meme serves as a breath of fresh air in todays crazy, fast-paced lifestyle that we all get caught up in. It's always good to have that family member that can help to keep you grounded and bring you back to focus on life's simple pleasures that we take for granted. My entire family is blessed to have Meme in our lives. We have had three babies added to our family over the past year. All three have been named after Meme including Julia.

There's always more than one way to skin a cat. Julia refused to wear this Hello Kitty hat until Carson decided he wanted to wear it.

I think they are getting the hang of posing for pictures. This is what we do on a Saturday when it's cold outside. We stay in and act like we are outside.
