Tonight we celebrated the end of our fundraising with friends. Julia was chosen to pick our winner of the Callaway Gardens Giveaway. No, she cannot read so therefore we did not have her turn her head when drawing. Ticket No. 172 was the lucky winner.. Barbara Birdnow!!! Congrats, Barbara!
I will try to load the video later. We are getting so excited about bringing Chaning home and for everyone to meet her. I know I have said this before, but we deeply want to thank those that have participated in making this possible. It is amazing what He can do when we are obedient to his calling.
For those of you in the adoption world, you can relate to this, but you might start the process of adoption for the reasons of "saving a child". In our case, we have learned that sharing our heart and home with another has been rewarding to our entire family; even extended family. During both adoptions, I feel like we have learned so much about ourselves and the love of others; stepping out of our comfort zone at times, being an advocate for a child that you have never met, feeling a deep connection and love for a child that you have only seen pictures of, walking by faith that your needs and the needs of this child will be met and learning the true meaning of unconditional friendship. These are things that we ordinarily do not stop to look at in our busy lives or we take for granted.
Next stop NVC cables our petition for Chaning to the Consulate. We hope to travel in the next 6 to 7 weeks. Please make sure you join us as we once again travel back to China to bring another Thomas home.
