Day 1 - Admit/ PIC Line and Gastro Tube
We all made it safely to Ohio but it was not without hiccups. The rain that we experienced on Monday in AL plus 30 mile an hour winds and a 20 degree difference in temperature followed us all the way up to Ohio. Tim did a great job of driving us but not stopping for lunch or getting out to stretch much at all really took a toll on this chick.
We all had to wake up around 5:45 a.m. EST, we lost an hour (4:45 our time), to get to the hospital. We were immediately escorted to our private room and then the fun began. We were really worried about the PIC line capability due to Chaning's lack of big veins but God answered our prayers and they were able to get it in on the first try, successfully. We then returned to her room so they could insert the tubing down her nose into her stomach. We are still reaping the effect from that procedure. She is doing good and resting well. We are first up for surgery in the morning and that should be begin around 7:45 a.m. EST. Our prayers are that our little girl have an uneventful but successful surgery and that this is her last surgery. Chaning will not be able to have ANYTHING by mouth for the next 7 to 10 days. This is going to be hard on both her and myself. She is already wanting to go home. I will update our website and facebook as I can tomorrow. We have a huge, palacious loveseat-sized pull out chair calling our name to sleep in tonight. It could always be worse. See Ya!!!
